Its a Nick Lowe kinda morning.

Do you know Nick Lowe? I decided I need to hear some this morning. It was almost a Robert Palmer kinda morning. For those that hate my music playlist- I'm driving you crazy.
When I hear Nick Lowe it makes me want to put on a pair of cowboy boots. Then go sit in the far back of a bar or bus and watch people with a clever smile. Not sure why. It just does. I'm a people watcher. I love to watch people. As a young actor- I would watch people whenever I could. Study them. The way they walk, slouch, sit. What do they lead with- chest? Shoulders? Feet? Chin? Watch people. You can learn alot. You can read a chunk of story from most individuals before they ever speak. Its true. People don't like to hear that. Truth is hard. People are easy. Not sure what that means.
So - where the heck have I been? Watching people. Taking it all in. Moving fast and furious. I'm caught up now. Got behind on life. Playing catch up. I have several posts today. Thanks all for checking back. Thanks for the emails. I will be responding shortly.
Got way behind on everything.

Got down- watching people.
I just spent the last hour writing a long post here. Decided not to post it. The short of it. People are crazed lately. Lack of money, worried souls, crazed teachers, pre- election jitters, whatever the reason. People are on edge. Health concerns for all- parents, grand parents. Money woes.
Crazed. Anyone else feeling it?
My advice- take it all in stride.

I have seen some folks get mean and ugly lately. All I can say- Don't let the world and others define who you are.
You need to define your own role in this world.

I know I'm getting serious again. I might loose a few of you. It happens.

Lately I have heard people guided by fear.
Rather than experience and intelligence.

When people feel endangered they go into attack mode.

My point-Remember to keep it cool folks.

My sidenote- If I hear another local artist crying the negative , or bad mouthing another local artist.
I might need to give a brutal public smack down.

My advice for most- Cowboy Up folks! It will get worse before it gets better.

My approach on most things.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and with the economy being what it is- I'm all out of bubble gum.

Talk soon.

What a sad commentary when someone cusses you out for a bumper sticker! Artist badmouthing artist??!! Smack 'em down hard! Nothing like an epiphany for the pinheads of the world! However, some never hear or learn. How sad!

Hi,
Good to see you're back. I agree that people are so fearful (and with good reason) that their behavior can be pretty bad. I was thinking about just hiding out at home, but I discovered that going to an art supply store is guaranteed to meet nice people. And then there are nice people whose blogs I read.

I've been blesed so far to not run into the nasties....but lots of worried souls for sure. I worry myself sometimes...Then I read your posts and I smile.

And for the record there is NEVER an excuse for an artist badmouthing another and a smackdown is definately in order!! What's wrong with people, anyhow?

PS- My country crooners of choice are George Strait & Josh Turner. ooohhhh

Hey Mike!
Yea, you're back! I enjoy your willingness to be serious. Plenty of food for thought. The "truth is hard, people are easy" comment is still going through my head. I was up til 2am last night writing 19 pages about just this thing. Frankly, people would be easier if they could just be honest. It's getting to that point that is too difficult for some. Now, I'm getting serious...the side I tend to keep to myself.

Hey Mike. I don't know who Nick Lowe is...well, I do now -- now that I've heard him on your playlist. I do know who Rob and Chad Lowe are, but they make me want to take off my cowboy boots and various other apparel...

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with people lately...it's worse than usual...could be one of those Mercury in retrograde things???

Realized my first comment was too long again - you write so well it's hard not to write a lot in response. Anyway, so glad to see you back.
