Changes, Changes, Changes

Thats right folks. Everywhere I look- changes!
Economic, political, artistic, personal.
The last few months have been filled with change.
Some good - some bad. I believe these changes will keep on coming. My advice be flexible and elastic. Don't take that the wrong way- I don't mean give up on ideas, or stop doing what makes you happy. I mean be prepared to adapt. To grow and find your pace with the times. Make sense? I hope so. It's what I have been trying to do. I have departed from my blog for the last few weeks- since New Years and a little before. Because I have been planning and molding things for change. In every aspect. The outcome of all this change - you never know? Uncertain times? Its very much like a certain stimulus plan.
Regardless of the outcome. Be positive.
Live your life with passion.
I know it can be hard, but burn bright and strong with all the things that you hold dear to your heart. Lately, I have had friends depart from this world, associates, and strong personalities that I hold dear in my own personal life. It makes you refect. Throw on an economic crisis, a new president, and a struggling artistic voice. You might have days where you wake up-not sure of the next step. But really I believe we all know the next step. It can be hard to leap enthusiastically forward at these times. However-we all have an inner morale compass and passions that lead us. Take hold of these.
Listen to your inner self.
Don't get bogged.
It's time to Cowboy Up!
My point with all this. Its tough- every time I saddle up and start riding- I look around and people are falling from their horses. Some are getting back up.
A few are not.
If you have the ability to ride- no better time.
The metaphor might be cheesy and stupid. But its how I feel.

Evertime two people collide. Meet. Or visit. There is always an exchange- an exchange of words, mental, physical. You either walk away from that exchange on the positive or the negative. People need more positive. When one person has a negative exchange with someone- they carry it into the next exchange, and so on, and so on. It spreads folks.

Family, friends, and more. Make your time count and to the fullest.

As a kid we moved all the time. Started a new school several times a year. As a kid you began to learn the drill on this. You can change how people will view you. You can mold yourself into a new character. One of the things that I developed in my head? I had an obsession with movies as a kid. But more than movies- I loved soundtracks and music. Music sets the pace or rhythm of a scene. You knew by the music what kind of scene it was.
Romantic, car chase, fight scene, a spy lurking around.
I started playing soundtracks in my head.
To adjust to new school situations-I would choose a soundtrack for myself.
A punk song for a defiant moment at lunch.
"Miami Vice" theme song for a brooding moment alone on the bus.
A Peter Gabriel song for a romatic "Say Anything" kind of moment.
"Stayin Alive" by the Bee Gees on the first day of junior high.

Everyone has a soundtrack for the moment they might be in.
What is your master song?

The song that sums you up best!
The master track for your soundtrack?
Remember this is also the song that people might hear when they look at you?
When they see you coming?
Does your song match how others view you?
You a somber person?
A postive person?
I think you get the idea.

What is your master song? Dare to share? Leave a comment.

Talk soon!
-Mike

Here is a peek at what we have been doing lately. Explain more soon.

You might need to turn the sound off at the top.

Hi, Glad you're back. You seem to have taken a right angle turn, but keep going and we'll follow as best we can.
My mother used to sing me a song called I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles and it has stayed with me all these years. I've decided it's too sad, especially for these times and has probably affected my life. Time for a new song.

i needed to read your post a few times to let it all sink in! my brains are a bit mush with all my own changes, forced changes most of them, stuff like my 16 year old daughter running away from home, my ex using this as an opportunity to make my life difficult once again, it's kind of a hobby of his, different story, won't go there!
my life kind of sucks at the moment, i chose to break with my boyfriend after Ranger U , it was over, it was hard but i'm loving being single, it's hard at times though! really is! but i'm getting to know myself so much better and like myself so much more! but now all the stuff with my daughter, my grandmother is about to die, i can't go visit, to far, north of england, can't get there with the kids and all, it hurts!
my song should be a sad one you'd expect! well it's not! i still believe in smiling every day!staying strong no matter what! learning from the shit! you know that! we talked about this! so my song is " don't let them take the fight outta you by ben harper because i"ll be" damned if i let anyone take the fight out of me! my ego can be suffering and offended but my soul is strong and still filled with love and respect for myself and for the world and people who cross or join my path.

life is though sometimes but it's a good thing to stay positive! it makes me happy to feel what you are saying! i love that bit of connection. you two take care of eachother and all will be well, changes included

Hi Mike,
I'm glad to see you are keeping your sights on the next step. That's all any of us can do really. We just have to keep hoping that the good steps will outnumber the bad, and giving the bad ones a chance to become good.
I've tried to think of what my song would be and it's like trying to tune in an old radio, a snippet here and another there. As long as the music keeps playing I'm good with it.
Change is good, Mike. Just embrace it and throw yourself behind that next step. All great journeys begin that way.
Wishing you the best...

YAHOO! I'm so glad to read you again, Mike! And I am so intrigued about what you and the Cat have been up to!
my song. that's a tricky one. But you know, I'm going to pick one that was chosen for me. More like dedicated to me, many years ago, by my mother (who passed in 1989) while singing on stage with a 16 year old me in the audience.
She sang me "One" from a Chorus Line.
That song reminds me of everything I need to know: if she could look at me and see all of that, then I sure as hell can! :)
Cheers and Lechayim!

YOu are so talented! Don't lose sight of that. I know some days it is hard to create, just do something different. Go to a store you have never been to, look around and take it all in. You have to keep your creative candle burning. I get inspired by your work. Even though things are changing, change with them. Do something different with your work, or market yourself differently. People will notice. You are your own CEO. Okay, enough of all that pep talk crap. My song right now.... hmmmmm...
I WILL SURVIVE! I've been knocked around lately, but I guess I don't get it because I keep getting back up! :)
Hugs for the two of you!

I can't think of a song right now, but I'm lovin' the horse analogy. I can't tell you how many times I've been thrown and gotten back on again. Literally and figuratively!
