Places To Find Images!

So this weekend got away from me.I'm back- I'm trying catch up on emails and blogs tonight. So if you haven't heard back from me-you will very soon! As promised here are a few places where you can find a few fantastic images & clipart for free... I suggest you check them out. I have a long list- so I will post a few over the next few days. I should mention-I know some people get very upset about sharing image resources-some people not so upset. The way that I see it-who cares about having the same images- its about the stories that you tell with the resources you have- its about individual storytelling as an artist. We all can see the same object in front of us- but its how we perceive that image and what its meaning has in our own individual heads that makes it unique. Being an artist is sharing that unique perception or meaning(or personal view). Making sense? Anyone want pick up where I leave off in a comment-please do...Anywho.. I will also create a link section on the side just for places to find images & clipart. If anyone else has a favorite place to find images send me an email or comment.

1.)For those of you that have a "Flickr" account- you should check out this group! If you do not have a Flickr account-get one! Post your work-post some images- join some groups- have some fun! This group that I mention is all about sharing images for collage. It's just under about 4,000 people in this group. Lots of goodies! If you foloow the link -you will not be able to see any images or photos until you have joined this group! But its worth it!
Collage Images (NOT FOR POSTING ART)

2.Art-E-Zine's Vintage Resources- This is a great collection!

3."Altered Souls": Mixed media by Molly Bradley- Great freebies!

4.The biggest and the best! The Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Online Catalog-thousands of images! Great stuff! The site can be a little hard to navigate at first- but don't get frustrated. Its well worth it!You can also order prints from the Library.

More to come later....

Terrific images and lists! Keep them coming! My problem, my printer is NOT hooked up to my internet computer : / But I can always thumbdrive images over... : )

I have found old family albums a great resource for pics, not just my albums but my parents and my grandparents. My dad is a photographer, he realized his dream of becoming a professional photographer when he was 12, he visited San Fran following WWII, took lots of pics, everyone back in OR was amazed at his work, that's when he knew...

Thanks Mike!

Thanks for the links! I agree that because there is SO much imagery available now to anyone that it's going to come down to the story the artist tells with their images and the personal taste of the viewer.
